Cape Verde Island Hopping
A great mix of active but comfortable sailing and exloring at least six islands
Cape Verde is situated in the Atlantic Ocean, over 600 kilometres west of Senegal. The archipelago consists of 9 inhabited and a few uninhabited islands. All islands are volcanic but the landscape varies widely from steep terrace fields with bananas and coffee plantations to sand deserts, black volcanos and a fierce deep blue ocean. The waters are full of flying fish, tuna, sea turtles and whales. The 11-day voyages offer a great mix of active, but comfortable sailing and exploring at least six islands. Each day of sailing will be followed by a full day on the island. The tropical climate and trade winds make Cabo Verde a real paradise for sailors.
Last night we saw the moon rise, a blood-orange colour which slowly dissolved into a bright white that embellished the midnight swells and illuminated the rigging; quite spectacular!
Home is where the anchor drops
From sailing under a full moon to the sensation of flying through the dark, to the sounds of dolphins exhaling next to the ship.
