A while ago, we were too close to the North Pole that our compass went crazy. The compass held her course as we were making a wide angled turn. The angle between the true north pole and our compass was getting so small, that its reaction has slowed down and had stopped working. The compass had become useless and was spinning on its own. After doing a 360′ turn on purpose and removing magnets inside the compass, it was still not back to normal, and so we had to navigating on sight and GPS only. True seamen skills are tested!
